The Paperback

The test paperback copy of  A BRIDE FOR MARCUS arrived today. It  looks lovely and I’m very happy with it.

It’s bigger and heavier than my mass market paperbacks from Berkley. It’s the same length as my other books — around 95,000 words — but because I’ve made the print a little bigger, the line spacing a little wider and the margins a little wider — to make it easier to read — it’s a bigger book.

You can see the difference below. On the left is a random page from THE AUTUMN BRIDE and on the right is one from  A BRIDE FOR MARCUS

I’ve priced it to be as cheap as I can, without actually losing money on each sale. But it’s going to be more expensive than people used to pay for mass market paperbacks.  I won’t put a price on here, as it’s different in each country, because of the exchange rates. and because bookshops also add a commission But pleased be assured I’ve made it as affordable for people as I possibly can. I know life is expensive.

Check with your local bookseller, who can give you a price and order it in for you. You can ask for it using my name + the title + the ISBN — 978-0-6450151-8-8

I just checked on line and found this: Paperbacks published via IngramSpark appear on Amazon  automatically through Ingram’s distribution network, which sends a metadata feed to retailer systems. Once enabled and “live” in IngramSpark, Amazon usually picks up the listing within 7-14 business days.
So you might have to wait a few days until you can buy the paperback on line.

I’m not worried about the cost! I’ll be happy to be the first one to order the book in paperback!

Ordering from my local independent bookstore. Don’t care if they take a little longer.

I think making the book physically more readable is a fantastic idea! My vision is not what it used to be so I read almost everything exclusively on Kindle because it’s just easier to see. I miss the experience though of holding a real physical book. I’ve already got Marcus queued up on pre-order!

Thanks for the pre-order Cindy, and the comment. My eyesight is deteriorating, and because of it I generally read e-books, but I know a lot of people prefer a paperback, so I tried to make the print easier to read there, too.

Just wanted to thank you for thinking about your readers! Not only cost but the larger print shows that you really do.
