Paper Dolls
Did you play with paper dolls when you were a kid? You know, those ones where you “dressed a cardboard doll in pretty printed clothing, and held it on by folding paper tabs over the doll.
There are still plenty of those around — and on the web — all ready for you to print off at home and give to your bored child to cut out and play with. Here’s one source. So pretty. The doll for the clothes is also on that site. I recommend you print the doll on card stock, or cut it out and glue it onto sturdy cardboard.
One of the things I used to do when I was a kid was to use the template of the paper doll’s clothes and cut out patterns and other pics from magazines, and make my own paper doll clothes.
And there are plenty of doll coloring pages here for kids.
And more links on that page.
Do a google search for paper dolls — you’ll be surprised and delighted at the range and variety available.
There are also paper teddy bears, and all kinds of lovely things.
Here’s the link to this very cute paper teddy.
And this link with many color-in dolls to choose from has a color-in paper teddy as well as lots of clothes.
So if you have bored little ones at home, or maybe even a bored inner child <g> why not explore the world of paper dolls on the web.
