Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone. I usually stay up to watch the fireworks, but missed them this year. The Sydney fireworks are always spectacular — the harbor and the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the suburbs rising all around them, giving a natural amphitheatre effect — it all makes for a brilliant setting.

Melbourne has good fireworks but we don’t have that  amphitheatre setting. And to be honest, I worry about the effect of the fireworks on all the animals and birds. Not to mention dogs, who freak out at all the bangs. Luckily my Milly-dog barely notices, but in the past I’ve rescued dogs madly running in the street, panic-stricken.

Anyway, while I have you here, I want to thank you for all the support, for reading my books and this blog, and sending me encouragement, when I’m battling with doubt. I really appreciate it.

I’m currently setting down a few plans for the coming year, so if you have any suggestions for things I could include in this blog — or indeed, any suggestions you have at all, I’d welcome them.
