Four more days
Just four more days until my new book comes out.

Book release day is a weird time for a writer. On the one hand, you’re excited because you have a book coming out, but then you’re also nervous, because what if people don’t buy it — or they buy it and don’t like it. And as well, you’re a bit sad, because this book is the last one in the series and you have to leave those characters and that place—their world—behind. And then you have to dream up another set of characters and another world.
By ‘world’ I mean the world they live in, the place, the network of people, the attitudes, their realities. So even though the characters in the Brides of Bellaire Gardens series live in the same Regency London world as The Chance sisters and the Merridew sisters, and there are similarities in each series, and even the occasional character from a previous series who pops up — as Daisy has, and Greatuncle Oswald — the world is slightly different.
Have you ever read a book that was set in your home town? Is it the hometown you know? It probably isn’t, because every writer creates their own version. That’s what I mean by ‘world.’
So the last book of the Brides of Bellaire Gardens is about to set sail into the world, and all I can do is wish her well, and hope people like the story.
