Catching up with friends

Front, from left: Keri Arthur, Fiona McArthur, Trish Morey. Back from left, Melanie Scott, me, Carol Marinelli.

Recently a few of my friends flew in to Melbourne to catch up —they do it every year. They always stay in the Langham Hotel, a favorite of ours. We have a smorgasbord lunch — the Langham does a splendid one — and we give each other little presents (usually edible), talk about the writing business, how things have been for us over the last year, plans for the future and that sort of thing.

This time we also talked about air-fryers — I think I’m the only one who doesn’t have one — and robot vacuum cleaners and we swapped useful info about products good for vegans, gluten intolerant people, and things like that. The number of people who are intolerant of various foodstuffs is growing, so I was very grateful for the info.

I usually give a bag of Christmas Crack, which everyone loves, and to it I added a paperback of my Christmas novel, WISH UPON A CHRISTMAS CANDLE.

The hotel interior looked beautiful, all done up for Christmas, with glittering Christmas trees all over the place, and gorgeous light displays  My favorite was a huge light filled globe that reminded me of Cinderella’s coach — before it turned back into a pumpkin. My photo wasn’t so good, I’m afraid.

There were also some gorgeous large silver deer. The deer photo was taken by Keri Arthur.
