Beautiful craft

Every now and then I go exploring through the web, looking for beautiful images and artwork as food for the soul. I came across these recently — Aussie textile artist Michelle Mischkulnig’s gallery of gorgeousness. She’s a textile artist, and the things she creates are beautiful. This was one of my faves — I have a thing about gum trees — but they’re all gorgeous.

So gorgeous! I’m now following her on Instagram! I can sew, but this kind of textile art always astounds me and just makes me feel GOOD! Thanks for the introduction to her work, Anne!

Being a crafter for as long as I can remember this really sings to me. I used to embroider all the time, but my age and changes in abilities has kept me from doing really fine work now, for years. But there is a big trend for embroidery that is more expressive that can be done with somewhat less precision or perfection and more creativity, art, and joy.
