An Italian cover

Italian language cover of my book, The Rake's Daughter
Italian language cover of my book, The Rake’s Daughter

My editor emailed me the cover of my latest Italian translation — The  Rake’s Daughter  — for my approval. In the past I rarely  got to approve covers, so it’s nice to have that now.

And who wouldn’t approve this lovely cover? It’s very pretty, don’t you think?

This is the first in the Brides of Bellaire Gardens series — Leo and Izzy’s story — and I’m hoping they’ll eventually publish the rest in the series.

Foreign rights are arranged by my publisher (Berkley – PenguinRandomHouse USA) not me. I only get to say yea or nay when presented with an offer, and once my agent has weighed in, I usually say yea. I love the thought of my books going into foreign languages.

Sometimes the overseas publishers send me a few copies of the books — but not always. Any Italian or Greek books I get I donate to my local library, which has a Greek and Italian collection. But most of the foreign language copies I get I can’t give to libraries, which is a shame. So I’m always on the lookout for places to donate them.

Hi Pat — yes my books are in 18 languages, which is very exciting. Several are even in Japanese manga comics, which I love.
