A Mystery Parcel

The postie came the other day — well, not actually a postie, a delivery driver — bearing a large flat parcel.  I couldn’t imagine what it could be. It was the size and shape of a painting — but who would send me a painting? 

I measured it — 55 cms (22 inches) x 38 cms (15 inches) and about 5 cms (2 inches) thick.

So then I cut open the cardboard packet — and this was what I found. 

I laughed so much. Who on earth would send two paperbacks in such a large cardboard container? (Someone who works for my French publisher, that’s who.) But why??????
