A Family Dinner
Most of my family live in Queensland, which is a long way from Melbourne.
Last week most of them came down to Melbourne for a wedding, and we had a chance to catch up over a dinner in Carlton.
That’s us at the table. I’m the third one down on your left, sitting beside my sister. The others are my two nieces, my nephew (front right-hand), two nephews-in-law (down the back), my Scottish niece-in law and a great nephew. It was a lovely night — so good to catch up, as I haven’t seen most of them for years.
We went to Il Gambero (the Prawn), which has been a Carlton staple for years, though it moved location down Lygon St a bit after a fire 15 years ago. But the food was just as good as I remembered, and though it wasn’t nearly long enough to catch up on all the news, it was still a most enjoyable night..
